Over here for the ninety plus boys and girls of specially selected classes from Year 4, 5 and 6 attend yoga lessons once a week before starting routine classes on Fridays. The school Senior Assistant of Co-curriculum activities, Genggamah, shared that these are the classes that have lagged behind in academic performance due to poor discipline. The class teachers were constantly grumbling that their students were generally disruptive and hyperactive with low attention span throughout school hours.
Since the children started to participate in yoga lessons, reports from class teachers have been encouraging remarking that majority of the children are now attentive when learning, more cooperative in completing their homework and also displaying more respect towards teachers.
